Blend and retouch a dark photo

There are many photos that have many dark color areas. Today i will introduce a method that will retouch and blend a dark photo into brighter color.

Now we do follow the steps below:
1. Duplicate layer and set it to Screen 50%
 

2. Choose Layer - New adjustment layer - Selective color :
 Red: -28, 23,100,4
 Yellow: 28,-9,-61,12
White: 0,0,27,0
 Neutral: 9,0,-6,0
Black: 9,0,34,19
 


3. Layer- New adjustment layer - Hue/Saturaion : Master Saturation: -35

4. Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E to merge all layers into a new layer (layer 1) Duplicate layer 1 we have layer 1 copy. Create a new layer between these layers and fill with white color. Choose Ctrl+Atl+~ to choose the bright area of pic and then click Delete we got: 

5. Layer - New adjustment layer - Selective color : Red : 77,0,0,0

6.Color balance:
Midtones: -28, -1, 11
Shadow: -21, 19, 32
 

7.Selective color:
Neutral : 19,0,0,0
 


8. Color balance:
 Shadows: 5, -2 , 5
 Midtones: 1, 15, 31
 Hightlights: -4, 4, 8
 

9. Click Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E to merge all into a new layer (layer 2) Our image seems not very soft, so we will soften skin of girl. Use Lasso tool to choose the skin area, then go to Filter, Blur, Gassian blur, set it to 2. Erase the eyes, lips, eye brown of her.
 

10. Duplicate layer 2, Ctrl+Shift+U to set into black &white. Set this layer into soft light, 60 %.
